July 13, 2006                                        Day 328

Greetings and welcome to all the brothers and sisters who stand tall and proud, sure in the fact that their integrity is intact. It has been a rough road that you all have been asked to walk the past 11 months, but more than 90% of you have chosen to walk it rather than the path of disgrace and forever be known as a filthy SCAB.

We are now officially out of the old Local office at the Wings Financial building in Bloomington and now reside in the old AMFA National Region 2 offices at 3050 Metro Dr. Suite 216 in Bloomington. I want to thank everyone that helped us with the move.

Our solidarity picnic was another success with the picket lines at the terminal staffed well. The positive response from the public was much appreciated. All in all, with the good food and the good company, those in attendance had a wonderful time.

And on the heals of our picnic it would appear that NWA is having a SCAB family appreciation day on Saturday July 22 at building C. So I would like to invite everyone to come to the local on Saturday July 22 so we can welcome all the SCABS as they enter building C.

As a reminder, our monthly business meeting will be held this coming Tuesday July 18th at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you there.

I want to thank those of you who have been coming in to man the picket lines. Those of you who have been here from the beginning and have never faltered as well as those of you who have recently started to come in more frequently, your time and effort is much appreciated. Along with our presence at the terminal, it has also allowed us to staff some of the areas that have been lacking of late, namely the scab entrances to the buildings.

I want to share with you a story I heard from one of our picketers. A group of our picketers had gotten a job setting up displays for different events recently. Unknown to them, one of NWA’s wonder-SCABS with April 88 seniority, had gotten the job as well. During the two days on the job, the SCAB was of course ignored by the men of integrity. Finally, when the silence became to deafening for the SCAB to bear, he asked why he was being treated in such a manner. He was quickly informed that he was a filthy SCAB, the enemy of organized labor everywhere throughout time. His answer “I guess you’re jealous I got called and you didn’t.

Well, first of all you half-brained, poor excuse for a man, you had to call in to NWA and get your name on the wanna-be-SCAB list to be called. And real men and women will never do that.  But then again he, and the rest of the fallen filth, wouldn’t know anything about that.

Thank you for not crossing the picket line!
