Mesaba Negotiations update for October 10, 2006

Court was back in session today concerning Mesaba's latest (3rd) attempt to abrogate the collective bargaining agreements of ALPA, AFA, and AMFA. AMFA was
originally scheduled to be at the bargaining table at 1230 this afternoon, but had to reschedule to 7pm this evening as members of the bargaining team were summoned to
bankruptcy court by AMFA's counsel to provide live testimony.
The court is only taking into consideration the negotiation of "snap back" provisions and equity claims and will not reopen the entire record as it relates to Mesaba's
filing of the 1113c motion. Neither snap backs nor equity claims were ever proposed to AMFA before September 21. Mesaba airlines violated confidentiality agreements
with ALPA today concerning "off the record" proposals in an attempt to show negotiations over these provisions. Court will be back in session tomorrow at 9am when the
unions will continue their cases.
The proposal that we received from management was still of a duration of 4 or 5 and one half years depending on fleet size and still consisted of an overall 10.82% wage
and premium cut. The proposal still had many other language changes that would reduce our overall compensation package.
We will digest this latest proposal from Mesaba and intend to offer a counter proposal as soon as possible, a time yet to be determined. We will be negotiating
tomorrow afternoon at the Holiday Inn in Bloomington on 34th Avenue South. Observers are welcome.
