Local 33 guide to appealing your unemployment claim

Presented to all members in good standing

Memo To AMFA Minnesota Unemployment Applicants:

The package has been designed to assist you in presenting your own administrative appeal of denial of unemployment benefits, as a service of this Local.  By reading this memo and hitting the accept button at the bottom, you understand and agree to this:

·              Acceptance and use of the package is not intended to constitute legal advice.

·              Acceptance and use of the package does not and is not it intended to create a contract or any enforceable legal agreement, duty or claim with AMFA, any AMFA Local, any AMFA officer, or any AMFA attorney.

·              You should understand that while you may represent yourself in any proceeding with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, or “DEED” or “Dept.” you alone are responsible for that representation (or any attorney you hire).

·              You are responsible for any testimony you give as a witness.  If anything in the enclosed package appears untrue or inaccurate in your case, then you should not testify or represent that it is true or accurate.

·              Finally, be advised that every claim may be different. It is best to do your homework and prepare as best you can for any hearing.  You may hire your own attorney.

·              If you have any questions about the law or your case, please consult an attorney.

By clicking on the accept button, you agree to and understand the memo above.  You will then be directed to another page where you will fill out the necessary information that will be sent to the Local 33 office.
